PRP Therapy for Hair Loss
The word PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. PRP Treatment is a non-surgical therapeutic option for hair growth in a natural way.
How PRP Treatment works
In this procdure, we withdraw the patient’s blood and then centrifuge to isolate the platelets. Platelets are a powerhouse element of the blood, rich in growth factor that is responsible for wound healing and clotting of blood. In a nutshell, our blood plasma (PRP) contains active growth factors that can promote hair growth.
We inject the PRP into the scalp with the help of a thin needle. The platelet portion when injected into the areas of hair loss, not only stimulates the stem cells present in hair follicle but also strengthens the existing hair. The image below depicts the process of PRP treatment for hair loss.
Why do we advise PRP Therapy?
PRP Therapy is a one of its kind, completely safe, natural technique to promote hair growth. Since the patient’s own blood is used, there is hence no chance of any allergy or infection. It can be done on both men and women.
PRP hair treatment may require up to 5-6 sittings before adequate results are achieved. Each sitting has to be done at a gap of 6-8 weeks. PRP treatment can be done in conjunction with hair transplant or it can be a standalone treatment for hair regrowth.
