Under-eye Fillers

Under-eye Fillers

Now, what does one mean by under-eye filler? Under-eye fillers usually triggers a lot of questions and I am going to try and answer them in this post.

Let’s begin with understanding what under-eye fillers are. Well, as the name suggests, they are filler injections used to improve the appearance under the eyes. So if the skin under your eyes appear dark, sunken or hollow; you may want to consider dermal filler injections as a recommended course of action.

Why do I have dark or sunken under eyes? Why do I always look tired?

Now, there could be many possible reasons for dark under-eyes. While on one hand factors such as lack of sleep, aging, dehydration, vitamin deficiency, smoking, and weight loss may trigger dark under eyes; on the other, it could also be genetic or a result of a medical condition.

Under-eye fillers are injectable treatments of hyaluronic acid, stimulating the appearance of thicker fat pads under the skin.

How do I get rid of dark circles under the eyes?

In my experience, I have seen fillers to have the best and the most efficient response to this ever increasing problem of dark circles. Topical creams or home remedies such as application of cucumbers and other vegetables do not give you the plumpier look you’d like that dermal fillers can.

What are dermal fillers made up of?

There is something called as hyaluronic acid that is already present in our skin. Fillers are nothing but this very component that is injected into the affected area to lift the skin up. A benefit of hyaluronic acid in filler is it helps pull water for additional plumping power, so it is helpful for creating a natural look and improving the longevity of your filler.

Is it safe to get fillers for under eye bags?

Yes, it is. However, you must check for the following:

  1. The treatment is done by a trained and experienced professional, and
  2. You opt for a reputed brand of fillers

How much filler would I need under one eye?

So, fillers come in pre-loaded syringes of 1ml each. Once a syringe is opened, we cannot store it. In my experience, one syringe is enough for both eyes. However, there may be cases that would require an entire syringe per eye.

How long does the result last?

The result lasts about eight months to a year. A booster dose always helps in maintaining the look for a longer duration.

How long does the treatment take?

We call it a lunch time procedure wherein a topical anaesthetic is applied for say 30minutes to minimize the pain of the syringe prick. You can resume normal life soon after the treatment.
