Let’s begin with understanding what permanent / LASER Hair Removal Treatment really is!
Laser Hair Removal Treatment is a medical procedure to remove unwanted hair with the use of a Laser – an intense, pulsating beam of light. In this procedure, we pass a laser beam through the skin to individual hair follicles. This laser beam generates heat that damages the hair follicles and prevents hair from growing. This happens because of the melanin pigment present in the hair. Because, typically, the skin colour is lighter than that of the hair, laser does not affect the skin. And it is this reason why this treatment is most effective for people with dark hair and light skin. Having said that, owing to the recent advances in technology, laser hair removal is now an option for people with darker skin tone as well.
Myth has it that laser hair removal lasts forever. Well, laser reduces hair growth by 70-80%. It requires a series of sittings to get desired results.
Common areas of laser hair removal include:
Most of our female patients get permanent hair removal done for chin, upper lip, arms and underarms, and forehead. Whereas, men mostly go for chest and underarms. We do laser for removing unwanted hair from any part of the body except eyelids and the surrounding area.

It may be safe to call this treatment risk-free. Like other medical procedures, this treatment also has certain side effects. The most common side effect is redness at the treated area for 1 to 4 days, varying from patient to patient. Some patients wonder if laser treatment is painful. Well, that truly depends on one’s tolerance levels. I feel it is more discomfort than pain that one feels.
